Youth Serve is a discipleship-based Christian camp for teens to spend a week in June serving the community of Kershaw, South Carolina. Our goal is to model for the teens what it looks like to serve like Christ in their local community and open their eyes to everyday opportunities to build Kingdom-centered relationships.
 

What Does the Day Look Like?

In the mornings, students serve by doing home repairs for those in need. The homeowners are carefully selected, and our work crews are led by skilled adults. Teens are divided into small groups that are led by our young adult leaders who are fun and excellent role models.
 

Afternoons are spent participating in a variety of service projects. These typically include a VBS for children at a local apartment complex, a sewing class which sends clothes to Third World countries, a baking class which delivers goods to local shut-ins, art projects, and a variety of other fun ways to serve.
 

Additionally, students have time each day to play games and swim, as well as enjoy skits, music, and evening worship together in an amazing outdoor atmosphere.

Are Meals Provided?

Local churches provide lunch and dinner that students enjoy together. (Note: The rotation of churches and meals is subject to change yearly.)

What about Location and Transportation?

Transportation to and from worksites are also provided by local churches. Our central location where we begin and end each day is the pavilion in Stevens Park (200 Close Circle, Kershaw, SC), and worksites are within 20 minutes of downtown Kershaw.

Youth Serve is primarily run by volunteers, and we are always thankful for those willing to serve in any capacity! We at Youth Serve sincerely believe that this program is one of the best things that our town has to offer! We hope that you will participate and fall in love with it as we have.
